Christine was with the Mineral & Metal Resources and Energy Division of Mitsui & Co. Australia until Feb 2022.

Mitsui & Co. Australia is the wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., one of the world’s most diversified trading, investment and services enterprises. Its diverse portfolio of businesses in Australia includes iron ore, coal,gas, oil, food, grain, salt, woodchips, power generation, machinery, base metals, steel products, chemicals, technology, and financial services.
Christine has had over 40 years experience in the Australian mining sector in trading, investment, and joint venture management. She played an active role in developing networks for global Mitsui as a member of cross-functional teams tasked with finding resources opportunities in Australia, South East Asia and South America.

She has visited many upstream and downstream facilities in Australia and overseas including mines, refineries, smelters, galvanizers, extruders, battery manufacturers and cable manufacturers.

This has contributed to her global knowledge of the resources sector and its customers as well as the unique cultures of many countries.

Through her extensive travels she has witnessed the positive impacts the industry brings to individuals, and communities, reinforcing her belief in mining as an important economic contributor.

Christine is a member of the LME Downunder committee, the Melbourne Women’s Fund and the AusIMM’s WIMnet.
