Opening Remarks: Kerry Stevenson, Founder of gold events and the virtual gold series


Manhattan Corporation Limited (ASX:MHC) is an emerging exploration company focused on advancing its flagship Tibooburra Gold Project located in the Koonenberry Gold District, north of Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia

The current ~2,200 km2 Tibooburra project stretches 160km south from the historic Tibooburra townsite. The company completed their maiden drilling program in December 2021 where the company intersected high-grade zones believed to host some of the best gold results reported from the region to date. Mineralisation remains open along strike, down dip and down plunge of previously-identified high-grade mineralised shoots.

Further drilling is underway now with a focus to drill on the continuity of the plunging shoots at depth and to continue to test the size of the high-grade system at New Bendigo.

Mr Bontempo has 22 years’ experience in public company management, corporate advisory, investment banking and public company accounting, since qualifying as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young. Mr Bontempo has worked primarily serving on the board and the executive management of minerals and resources public companies focusing on advancing, financing and developing mineral resource assets and business development.

Mr Bontempo also provides corporate advice services for the financing of resource companies across multiple capital markets and resource asset acquisitions and divestments.

Meeka Gold Limited (ASX:MEK) is a junior gold explorer with a portfolio of exploration projects across Western Australia.

Meeka’s flagship Murchison Gold Project has a combined 343km² landholding in the prolific Murchison Gold Fields of Western Australia and hosts a large high grade 1.1Moz Mineral Resource. He led the listing of a package of copper/gold assets in Saudi Arabia to create Citadel Resources (ASX: CGG) becoming the Managing Director for the first 18 months. Citadel completed a DFS on the Jabal Sayid copper project in Saudi Arabia prior to being taken over for $1 billion.

Tambourah Metals (ASX:TMB)

Tambourah Metals Ltd was established in 2020 to develop high quality gold and nickel projects.

Rita Brooks

Ms Brooks has a Bachelor of Education and has worked in the exploration industry for 30 years. She was a founding director of the gold and nickel explorer Berkeley Resources Ltd which listed on the ASX in 2003.

Ms Brooks is a director of several private companies and has acquired and explored projects for gold and other commodities throughout Australia. Rita has been involved in several exploration companies and has experience developing new businesses in the mining and hospitality industries.

Ms Brooks, as Executive Director, has been instrumental in securing the Western Australian projects which comprise the Tambourah Metals Ltd, exploration portfolio. The current Tambourah Metals Ltd. portfolio has been developed by Baracus (a private exploration company based in Western Australia).

Rob’s career as a professional geologist and geophysicist commenced as electrical geophysical contracted and then progresses to managing exploration, feasibility studies, development and construction and operations of mining and energy projects. Rob has had over 20 years public company management and corporate experience, with the ASX, AIM and TSXV Market.

Rob lead the team at that took the world class Tier 1 Medhiabad Zn Project in Iran from concept to BFS sign off. Rob has developed and operated several gold mines and managed exploration programs for oil & gas, coal, uranium, iron ore, gold, silver, copper, lead zinc, chromium, rare earths, graphite and more. Rob has managed projects in Australia, the Pacific, Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
Rob has lead the development of a BFS Study on a Tier 1 asset plus build and managed CIP and VAT leach gold projects in Western Australia, New South Wales and Queensland.
Rob has listed and then been the CEO or Chairman of Junior Resource Companies listed on the ASX, AIM and TSXV Market. Rob has also been a director of listed technology and telecommunication Companies. Rob has had well over 20 years listed company director experience.
Rob has managed the raising of well over $100M of capital for mineral exploration, feasibility studies and development of resource projects in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America.

During this time he also gained valuable underground mining experience (4 years) at WMC’s (now BHP) world-class Olympic Dam and Perseverance mines in Australia. Over the years he has successfully implemented and managed numerous multi-million dollar grassroots exploration programs worldwide. Luke holds a BSc (Honours) and a PhD in geology.

Oklo Resources (ASX:OKU)

Oklo resources’ licences cover the highly prospective greenstone belts in Mali, West Africa, with a total landholding of 1,405km2. The Company’s focus is on its West Mali landholding (~505km2), and in particular its flagship Dandoko Project located east of the prolific Senegal-Mali Shear Zone and in close proximity to numerous world-class gold operations, with the Company retaining a 20% interest in its south Mali projects (~675km2) through a joint venture with Marvel Gold Limited (ASX:MVL).

The Company has reported a robust initial JORC 2012 compliant Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) of 11.3Mt at 1.83g/t gold for 668.5kOz contained gold at its flagship Dandoko Project in West Mali with 79% of the MRE classified in Measured and Indicated category which remains open and is expected to grow with ongoing drilling along strike and at depth.


Mr Taylor is a geologist with over 25 years’ experience in exploration, project assessment and development in the resources sector. He has had a diversified career as a resources professional providing services to resource companies and financial corporations. His experience spans a range of commodities including gold, fertilisers (phosphate and potash), base metals, nickel, uranium, coal and coal seam methane. Whilst his experience includes Australia a majority of his projects have been in countries including Brazil, Turkey, Uganda, Tanzania, Mali, China, UK and North America.

His experience includes providing consulting services to resource companies and financial corporations as a resource analyst. His analytical and technical expertise, combined with his corporate experience have given him an ability to advise companies at a corporate and Board level including fund raising, acquisitions, promotion and recognising value opportunities to add shareholder value.

He has worked in Investment Research, Equity Capital Markets, Managed Funds, and Corporate Advisory Business Services with Small Cap Listed companies mostly in the Resources Sector.

Barry considers that he can provide clients with the highest level of understanding of resources operations together with company and investment strategies, stock selection, resources commodity outlooks and the flow of funds in and out of the sector.

Calidus Resources (ASX:CAI)

Calidus Resources is an ASX-listed gold company that will pour first gold in the June quarter of this year at the 1.7Moz Warrawoona Gold Project located in the East Pilbara district of the Pilbara Goldfield in Western Australia. Warrawoona will initially produce 90,000 ozspa before ramping up to 130,000 ozs pa when the high grade Blue Spec deposit is bought onstream.

David is a Perth-based, qualified mining engineer with 30 years of experience in the mining industry, he is currently a director of Keras Resources Plc (AIM). David has extensive experience in international capital markets through his involvement with various listed London and Australian companies.

David has a first class WA Mine Managers ticket and a Graduate Diploma in Finance and Investment. He was managing director of Keras Resources Plc when Keras consolidated the Calidus project area and has over 20 years experience in gold and precious metal development.

Maximus Resources (ASX:MXR)

Maximus Resources (ASX:MXR) is a dual gold and nickel explorer with tenements located 25km from Kambalda, Western Australia’s premier gold and nickel mining district. Maximus currently holds 108 sq km of tenements and gold rights, which hosted several high-grade nickel mines, and the very high-grade Wattle Dam Gold Mine, one of Australia’s highest-grade gold mines producing ~266,000 oz @ 10.6 g/t gold. Maximus is well funded and advancing several high-grade gold resources and exciting nickel sulphide prospects across the tenement portfolio, whilst actively exploring for the next Wattle Dam.


Tim Wither is a mining engineer with over 20 years experience in the resource sector, both domestically and internationally, with key involvement in the development of several greenfield projects. Mr Wither has held various senior executive and strategic leadership roles in Australia, India, Africa, South America, with publicly listed companies on both the ASX and TSX.


Emmerson Resources (ASX:ERM)

Emmerson Resources Limited is focusing on two of Australia’s most sought after, exploration hotspots.

Emmerson holds 1,700km2 of tenements covering 90% of the Tennant Creek Mineral Field in the Northern Territory – one of Australia’s highest-grade goldfields. In addition, Emmerson holds 660km2 across five projects in NSW, where a recent discovery by Alkane Resources (called Boda) has ignited great exploration interest.

Mr. Bills holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Monash University 1984) and a Master of Science (James Cook University 1989). He joined Emmerson Resources in September 2007 after a 25 year career in exploration and mining with Western Mining Corporation (WMC), then BHPBilliton. During his career with WMC Mr. Bills held numerous senior management positions including Senior Mine Geologist at Kambalda, Senior Research Geologist for Australasia, President Director of WMC Indonesia, Group Exploration Manager with WMC and most recently at BHPBilliton held the position of Global Commodity Specialist. Mr. Bills brings to the Company a track record of global exploration and management success including a detailed knowledge of Iron Oxide Au-Cu-U deposits and a deep understanding of the exploration business.


GBM Resources (ASX:GBZ)

GBM Resources Limited is a well-funded Queensland based mineral exploration and development company focused on the discovery of world-class gold and copper deposits in Eastern Australia. The company has a high calibre project portfolio, hosting district scale mineral systems, located in a number of premier metallogenic terrains.

Its 100% owned flagship project in the Drummond Basin (QLD) holds ~1.5 Moz of gold in JORC resources (Mt Coolon, Yandan and Twin Hills). 2002 will see an expanded drilling program which is aiming to define 2-3 Moz and support GBM’s transition into a mid-tier Australian gold company.

Separately it also holds tenements in the Mt Morgan district (subject to a vend into a TSX company) and in the Mt Isa Inlier in Queensland (JV with Nippon Mining Australia – 54%), and the Malmsbury Project (JV with Novo Resources Corp. – 40%) in the prolific Victorian Goldfields. This is complemented by the cash generating White Dam Gold-Copper Project in South Australia in which GBM now holds a 100% interest. Divestment of non-core assets will continue.


Mr Rohner (Grad Dip Applied Finance & Investment, BSc – Metallurgy) has over 30 years’ experience in the mining industry. In particular, he has been heavily involved in mineral process technology development including development of the Jameson flotation cell, IsaMill fine grinding and, more recently, significant involvement in further development of Glencore’s Albion Process (fine grind oxidative leach) technology.

Mr Rohner is currently a Technical Director of both the Core Group, which provides metallurgical processing solutions to its global clients, and Stibium China Holdings Ltd, which owns a producing gold asset in South Africa. He is also a director of Stibium Mining Pty Ltd and Tartana Resources Limited.

Hedley Widdup graduated as a geologist with first class honours from the University of Melbourne in 2000. Upon finishing his degree, Hedley joined WMC Resources as a geologist working at the Mt Keith Nickel Mine. Hedley has extensive mine and resource geology experience spanning WMC Resources at the Mt Keith Nickel Mine, Olympic Dam, Mt Isa and St Ives Gold Mine before joining Lion Manager in July 2007.

Hedley completed a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance in 2011, and became an Executive Director of Lion Manager Pty Limited in September 2012.

Hedley was previously a Non-Executive Director of EganStreet Resources Limited and Kasbah Resources Limited, and is a Non-Executive Director of Erdene Resource Development Corp.

He was involved in the discovery, delineation and development of the +2Moz Thunderbox gold mine, the delineation and development of the +1Moz Dalgaranga Gold Mine, the discovery and delineation of the +1Moz Glenburgh Gold deposit and the discovery and delineation of the Waterloo/Amorac, Munali and the Mirabella Nickel Sulphide mines, the IOCG – Cloncurry Copper, Gold, Cobalt, Magnetite project as well as a number of smaller deposits.

Mr Dunbar’s experience includes 4 years with Eagle Mining, 6 years with LionOre Australia, 6 years with the Mitchell River group of companies including Albidon, Mirabela Nickel, African Energy, Sally Malay Mining (now Panoramic) and Exco Resources and 9 years with Gascoyne Resources. Recent ASX Directorship Gascoyne Resources March 2011 to October 2018.



Barton Gold is an ASX listed Australian gold exploration company with a total attributable ~1.1Moz Au JORC (2012) Mineral Resources endowment (28.74Mt @ 1.2 g/t Au), a pipeline of advanced exploration projects and brownfield mines, and 100% ownership of the only regional gold mill in the central Gawler Craton of South Australia.

Alexander Scanlon

Alex is a financial economist with more than 15 years’ experience in financial analysis, consulting, structured finance and mining advisory, investment and management. He was previously Managing Director of PARQ Capital Management and a Director with Lusona Capital where he focused on corporate advisory and principal investments in the natural resources sector.
Alex is a graduate of Santa Clara University (BSc Finance Honours & BSc Economics Honours), the University of Oxford (MSc Financial Economics) and the University of Cambridge (MPhil Management).
